Shakespeare (1564 – 1616) is England’s most celebrated dramatist and poet. His works have been translated into 80 languages. He helped shape the English we use today, introducing up to 300 words and dozens of phrases that are very common these days. His plays are known around the world for their universal themes and it describes the human condition. Yet much about the playwright is a mystery.

William Shakespeare was born in Stratford-Avon, England in April 1564, during the reign of Queen Elizabeth. The son of John Shakespeare a Glover and his mother Mary Arden who came of wealthy farming family. He went to school in Stratford, and at eighteen he married a local girl called Anne Hathaway, with whom he had three children (PARK H.1998). For seven years after Judith and Hamnet birth in 1585, nothing is known for certain of Shakespeare’s activities, how he earned a living, when he moved from Stratford, or how he got his start in the theater. However in 1592 his wife and children stayed in Stratford, he was living in London in that time, and there he started his career.

His amazing career began with acting and writing in theater, then in 1594 he joined a company of actors called The Lord Chamberlain’s Men, He is thought to have written the three parts of Henry VI and Richard III by this point. After that in 1602 he had to defend his title against accusations that “Shakespeare ye player” did not merit the honor of a coat of arms. By this time Shakespeare’s company had performed Romeo and Juliet, Richard II and a Midsummer Night’s Dream (BBC.2018).

By the time he was in his late forties, Shakespeare was successful and rich, buying houses and land in London and Stratford. He died in Stratford on his birthday in 1616.

In Conclusion, he has never been forgotten. People today continue to read his poetry and watch his plays at the theatre, and he is one of the world`s most known writers of all times.
