Deforestation causes many problems for our ecosystem

Deforestation causes many problems for our ecosystem. One reason is that deforestation contributes to climate change. It accounts for one fifth of greenhouse gas. There is so much of deforestation in Indonesia that it is #3 in the world for greenhouse gas emission. However it is worse in China and the US. Rising global temperatures damage and kill trees and increase droughts and forest fires. Deforestation can and will change life cycles on Earth, and transform human civilisation. Another reason deforestation is harmful is because of flooding. When it rains trees absorb and store a large amount of water in their trunks and roots. When the trees are cut down, the flow of water is disrupted and leads to floods in some areas and droughts in others. My final reason as to why deforestation is an issue is wildlife extinction. Due to the massive amount of cut down trees, various species of animals are lost. The removal of trees also takes away their habitats and are forced to move to new locations. In some cases, they are even pushed to extinction.
