Everyone has committed sin, whether it be substantial or miniscule. After all, it is natural for humans to do, however it is the actions that one takes afterwards to be redeemed that commands their fate. The protagonist, Amir, spends the entirety of his life seeking redemption for the inescapable actions of his past. Throughout the novel, Amir struggles with atoning for his sins until he discovers the truth of redemption. Khaled Hosseini’s The Kite Runner largely explores the topic of redemption and reveals that it comes from courage and the forgiveness of one’s self.
Though many believe that forgiveness or redemption can come from physical punishment, it does not.
