In order for children to be able to behave appropriately

In order for children to be able to behave appropriately, they need to know what is expected of them, and as a practitioner we must have a consistent approach when dealing with children’s behaviour, and I must follow the same boundaries and guidelines of the setting that everyone is respecting it, or children will become very confused. As well, a good behaviour for the child it will based on the sensitivity, and us as practitioner we must provide children with permanent loving care, new experiences and permanent communication because behind every child’s negative behaviour there is a desire or need that cannot be satisfied by the established limitations and rules, but first time we need to identify the positive behaviours of the child and strengthen them. In my setting, we explain children the behaviour policy and we helped them understand that this procedure is applied for them to end an inappropriate behaviour through discipline. Through the efficient discipline, we help them to improve their behaviour, and to adopt a new one, and trying to control it without having to intervene. An optimal discipline does not take place when the child listens only to fear or acts so as to avoid punishment, but when he complies with the rules of conviction.
When disagreeing with the child’s behaviour, manifestation of disapproval, we as practitioners we must take into account the temperament, the age and ability of the child to understand. In my setting time-out discipline is the most involves the child’s removal from a problematic situation and sending it to a neutral area with no toys or any other sources of distraction until it calms down and relaxes.
